After the following verbs we can use the – to… form in the next verb:
Try, agree, plan, want, promise, offer, arrange, hope, decide, afford, manage
Positive Sentences
I promise to send you the information tomorrow.
I hope the boss will decide to have a Christmas office party this year.
I agreed to help them but it was a mistake. I’m doing everything now.
Negative Sentences
I don’t want to talk at the moment.
I didn’t decide to cancel the appointment. It was your idea!
Questions
Can you manage to send the consignment by next week?
Do you promise to deliver the goods promptly?
