Situation – Presenting your company

John Simmons has an appointment with Peter Whyte, the CEO of David Smith Engineering. The CEO is giving John a short presentation about the company.

Peter – Thanks for coming today John. Can I just give you a bit of background information about our company before we move on to the tour?
John – That would be very useful.
Peter – Firstly I would like to welcome you to our company and to thank you for finding the time to visit us today. David Smith Engineering was founded in 1986 and actually started off in a small workshop near Edinburgh. At the beginning we had a few good ideas and lots of motivation. In the meantime, we are still highly motivated and we employ about 120 members of staff. Our head office, as you can see, is now located here in Glasgow and we turn over approximately seven million Pounds per year. As the CEO of the company, I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved and done. Our main product is the design, manufacture and assembly of aircraft braking systems. In 2012 we are planning to open a subsidiary near Prague Airport in the Czech Republic. Here’s our organigram. As you can see we have three main areas: admin, design and production. Daniel Miller is responsible for admin. Justin Tompkins manages design. Ron Butler is in charge of development. They all report directly to me. John, do you have any questions?
John – No I don’t. That was very informative. Thanks.
Peter – OK. Let’s get started.

Danke.
Peter – OK. Lassen Sie uns anfangen.
