John – Hello officer. Could you help me please? I’m looking for David Smith Engineering in Steel Street.
Policeman – Sure. It’s quite easy.
Follow this road. Turn left at the second traffic lights. Take the first exit off the roundabout. Drive over the level crossing. You will see the company after roughly 200m on your right hand side.
John – Wonderful. Thanks very much. Bye
Policeman – No problem.
…….. 10 minutes later at the company
Receptionist – Can I help you?
John – My name is John Simmons and I’ve come to see Mr David Smith. I’ve just spoken to him on the phone and he’s expecting me.
Receptionist – Do you know how to find his office?
John – Sorry, I don’t.
Receptionist – OK. Go through the glass door. Walk down the corridor. On your right hand side is a set of stairs. Go up the stairs to the second floor. Turn left and his office is opposite the conference room.
John – I don’t suppose you’ve got a lift. I’ve got a heavy bag.
Receptionist – Unfortunately, it’s out of order at the moment. I’m afraid you’ll have to take the stairs. Sorry for the inconvenience. Here’s your visitor’s pass.
John – Thanks a lot.

John – Guten Tag, Herr Wachmeister. Könnten Sie mir bitte helfen? Ich suche die Firma David Smith Engineering in Steel Street.
Polizist – Sicher.
John – Super! Vielen Dank. Auf Wiedersehen
Polizist – Gern geschehen.

Empfangsdame – Wissen Sie, wie Sie sein Büro finden?
John – Nein, leider nicht.
Empfangsdame – In Ordnung. Gehen Sie durch die Glastür.
Gehen Sie den Gang entlang.
Auf der rechten Seite sehen Sie eine Treppe.
Gehen Sie in den 2. Stock.
Dort biegen Sie links ab. Sein Büro befindet sich gegenüber dem Konferenzraum.
John – Haben Sie eventuell einen Fahrstuhl? Ich habe eine schwere Tasche bei mir.

John – Vielen Dank.
