Passive Voice with Mixed Tenses

The passive voice is often used in describing processes, i.e. how a machine works. It is important for technical employees.

In an active sentence we talk about the subject of a sentence:
i.e. The warehouse worker (subject) loaded (verb) the pallet (object) into the truck.

In a passive sentence we talk about the object:
i.e. The pallet (object) was loaded (verb) into the truck by the warehouse worker (subject).
Here the speaker is more interested in the pallet, rather than who loaded it.
“ was loaded ” is what we call the passive voice.
