Countable & uncountable nouns: much, many & a lot of

Use

Countable nouns – have a plural (i.e. chair, car)
Uncountable nouns – don’t have a plural (fun, water)

We use much in questions & negative sentences with uncountable nouns.
We use many in all types of sentences for countable nouns.
We use a lot of in positive sentences with both noun kinds.

Positive Sentences

I have a lot of bottles.
He has many bottles.
We have a lot of water.
